Walk Talk Therapy is just what it sounds like - therapy while we walk! Walk Talk brings so many good things together - the physiological and mental benefits of spending time outdoors, the physical and mental benefits of movement, plus all of the goodness of therapy! Walk Talk is a growing movement across our country and I'm happy to offer this in our community.
I typically will facilitate sessions at Karst Farm Park (on the greenway trail) or on the outdoor paths near SE or NW YMCA in Bloomington. If you have another trail you'd like to explore in therapy, please let me know and we can discuss this as an option.
Who would Walk Talk be ideal for? Those experiencing: anxiety, depression, PTSD or other traumatic symptoms, adolescents and children, those who are uncomfortable to start therapy or uncomfortable with the traditional "in office" set up, or those who just like to move! This is also a great option for parents of young children who are in strollers - you are welcome to push them along as we work towards your goals! People often find that it is easier to open up in therapy while walking, as opposed to sitting still.
We can complete intake sessions near our walking location (in a park, for example) or we can do so via online therapy. When scheduling, we will confirm which location you prefer.
