I want to do Walk Talk, but what if it rains or snows? If there is inclement weather, you always have the option of meeting online or meeting in person at a nearby cafe. There can be great benefit to continuing the session even in wet weather and many people choose to do this (if it is not storming).
Is this an exercise program? Do I need to be in great shape to participate? No, our pace is set by you and is slow enough to maintain a conversation, comfortably. If at any point you get tired and would like to sit down, we will find an appropriate place to do so!
What about confidentiality? Is it possible I could see someone I know? It is possible you could see someone you know, however there is no reason any one else has to know you are actively participating in therapy. I dress as if I am exercising in the park with a friend which aids you in providing a more confidential atmosphere. If we come upon people, we will either quiet our discussion while we pass or take a turn in another direction. We will talk more about this during our intake session.
What should I wear? Whatever you want! You are welcome to wear whatever you are most comfortable in. As stated above, I will dress in athleisure clothes on most days so as to stand out while we are walking together.
How does online counseling work? Online counseling is very similar to face to face therapy. I will give you a link as well as log in information to sign into my online "therapy room". The platform I use is HIPAA compliant and is user friendly. Online therapy is great for people who live busy lives and either feel they cannot or would rather not take the time to go to a physical office (or other location) for therapy. You can participate in therapy from the comfort of your own home, your office, wherever you would like!
Can I do Walk Talk and Online Therapy? Yes!
How do I know if we are a good fit? I offer a 20 minute free consultation call, where we will explore goals to ensure I am a good fit for you.
